Ensemble Dagda Visit Schools

Ensemble Dagda Visit Schools

  Friday 6 November 2020

On Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th November, members of Ensemble Dagda will be delivering interactive online workshops in schools in Lisavaird, Bandon, Innishannon, Passage West, Dunmanway and Charleville. These workshops are organised as part of Tuning Up, which is part of Cork County Council’s annual Arts in Schools Programme.  This year, through Cork County Council’s generous support, these online workshops have been offered free of charge as part of the County Council’s “Being Creative in COVID 19”  programme.

The workshop being delivered to County Cork students next week is called Horrible Histories and Harmonies. Horrible Histories and Harmonies with Ensemble Dagda romps through the 16-18th centuries through music and dance, touching on the stickier sides of things. An interactive experience for all ages, students will hear music from hundreds of years ago, learn a Dublin Castle dance as well as try their hand at conducting an eighteenth-century orchestra!

Tuning-Up is part of Cork County Council’s Arts in Schools Programme and is organised and managed by West Cork Music.  Tuning Up is part funded by the Arts Council/An Comhairle Ealaíon.
