Timothy Doyle, a former winner of the West Cork Chamber Music Festival Composition Competition, has won the Seán Ó Riada Composition Competition 2026.

Congratulations to Timothy from everyone at West Cork Music and best of luck with the premiere. Timothy’s winning composition, Points and Lines, will have its world premiere at the Cathedral of St Mary & St Anne (North Cathedral), Cork, on Friday, May 1st, at 7.30pm.

The premiere performance of Points and Lines will be part of the Cork International Choral Festival’s annual collaborative concert with choir-in-residence, Chamber Choir Ireland, led by Artistic Director Gabriel Crouch.

Timothy was twice winner of the WCCMF Composition Competition for String Quartet, 2019 for his string quartet Blooms performed by Doolan Quartet, and 2023 for his string quartet Currents performed by Inis Quartet.
