Aiteall‘s final concert in St Brendan’s Church will feature a double headline by brilliant West Cork singer-songwriters Eve Clague and Julianne Quirke.
From Clonakilty West Cork, Ireland, Eve Clague is a singer-songwriter who draws on the rich variety of music she grew up with in her home and community. Her style of song writing is highly personal and direct. Eve has developed a self-taught fingerpicking style of guitar with folk/jazz elements and hints of Joni Mitchell and Nick Cave vibes. She has a powerful voice that captures the elements of the ’60s. She writes songs of love, friendship and heartbreak and other issues dealing with emotions and mental health.
Julianne Quirke is a West Cork-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and cellist making richly layered indie folk-pop. Her songwriting sits with the moments when certainty breaks down, the space between wanting and having, between independence and intimacy. Quirke’s music has sonic touchpoints of Feist, Laura Marling and Billie Marten, as she weaves between acoustic closeness and expansive cinematic arrangements.
