Amano at Aiteall

Rising star Amano is stopping by the Aiteall Festival as part of her first national tour. A sean-nós singer and songwriter with roots in Kerry and Kyūshū, Japan, she she sings in Irish, mixing traditional Irish song with folk, pop and electronic sounds, from the haunting lullaby to the raucous slip jig.

She’s already played Electric Picnic, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and the National Museum at Collins Barracks, and appeared on The Tommy Tiernan Show. This tour takes her to the National Concert Hall and Cork Opera House, as well as Bantry, where she joins a line-up packed with talented singer-songwriters engaged in exciting ways with the Irish singing tradition.

Catch her in the intimate setting of Marino Church on Saturday evening, with Samuel Arnold Keane opening. Then join her (and join in) on Sunday morning, when she teaches an Irish song workshop in the same church.
