UPDATE – Seeking writers to fill the last slots

My Life in StripsFollowing the success of the previous My Life In Strips activity and recent publication of the comic, West Cork Music is delighted to invite young people to join in the final year of these workshops.

Through a series of six workshops, participants will be taught how to create their very own comic strip.  They will experience the full comic making experience first-hand and see their work published in a professional standard comic book. The aim of the project is that participants complete the workshop with an understanding of how to replicate the process for themselves in future and they will get an insight into the different aspects of working in the comics industry.

The finished artwork will be entered into a competition with other EU partners in the Spring, and exhibited at the READ ON events at the West Cork Literary Festival 2021.

Workshops will begin in January and take place over six Saturdays from 12 noon – 2pm.

Places are limited so please apply early.

These workshops are free of charge, as they are co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and the Arts Council of Ireland.

Please register interest asap by emailing Colin O’Mahoney at colinomahoney@gmail.com
