Danny O’Mahony

Danny O’Mahony hails from Ballyduff in North County Kerry. Both imaginative and fearless in his interpretation, Danny’s musical style is expressive and deeply personal, and reflects his affinity with the music of past masters. In 2013 he was awarded Top Button Accordionist by the Irish Music Association in America. His critically acclaimed debut solo recording In Retrospect was released in 2011 and a year later, he collaborated with Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh on As It Happened. Since 2004, Danny has presented and produced a weekly radio programme on Radio Kerry. He was appointed Traditional artist in residence by UCC in 2020.
