Join us as we embark on a walk in the magnificent countryside surrounding Bantry Bay. Neither rain nor serpents are guaranteed but please do dress appropriately for the weather!

Start point: Tourist Office, The Square, Bantry
Length of walk: 4km
Duration: 2 hrs
Level : Easy but grassy terrain so suitable footwear is necessary. Suitable for all ages and for buggies.

The starting point of this walk is the Tourist Office on the Square, Bantry. The walk follows the pavement along the southern side of Bantry Bay and passes through Bantry House’s gardens and woodlands to reach the Rope Walk.  The route includes a short side trip to the unique seventh century Kilnaruane Pillar stone, which features a very early depiction of a boat. The walk passes the Westlodge Hotel and the Abbey graveyard before returning to the Tourist Office.

Experienced local guide Charlie McCarthy will be leading the walk.

Cost €5 payable at the start of the walk
