Alexandra Heminsley

Abbey Strand

Wed 18 July 2018

Swimming is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK: 2.7 million people swim once a week. Join Alexandra Heminsley, author of Leap In: A Woman, Some Waves and the Will to Swim for our annual festival swim. As Alexandra learned, the water is never as frightening once you’re in, and really, everything is better when you remember to exhale. Bring your swimsuit, your towel and your sense of fun!

Alexandra Heminsley is a journalist, broadcaster and ghostwriter. She is author of the bestselling memoir Running Like a Girl, which has now been published in thirteen countries.

We will be meeting at Abbey Strand at 11.30 or join us for Alexandra’s Coffee & Chat event at 10am and we will walk from Bantry House to Abbey Strand.
